Introducing DDoS Visibility for SP// WAF

In September, we shared that many observabilities and analytics enhancements were coming for StackPath Web Application Firewall (SP// WAF).

Today we’re happy to announce one of them: DDoS Visibility for SP// WAF.

As most know, Layer-7 (L7) DDoS attacks are one of the most damaging assaults on a cloud application. SP// WAF already included, for any SP// WAF customer, protection against L7 attacks of any size.

With DDoS Visibility, SP// WAF customers now have direct access, in our Customer Portal, to data for any L7 attack they’ve received in the last 30 days, including the attacks:

  • itemized requests
  • participating IP addresses
  • attacking clients, tools, & user agents
  • targeted URLs

Plus, they can receive near real-time, in-app alerts about any attack. Altogether, these updates help SP// WAF users make even more informed decisions—and even create more targeted custom rules—based on the patterns of the attacks they experienced.

DDoS Visibility data and in-app alerts are active today for all SP// WAF Essentials, Professional, and Enterprise subscribers. Data can be accessed under the “DDoS Attacks” tab in the Analytics section of the WAF controls in the SP// Customer Portal. To learn more, check out this knowledge article.
